Dr. Muthana is the Director of Accreditation & Quality Assurance department at Alfaisal University. He is responsible for overseeing and directing University-wide activities related to quality assurance, accreditation, program review, institutional effectiveness, and faculty development. Dr. Muthana joined Alfaisal University in 2014. During his tenure at Alfaisal, he has held multiple leadership positions including Director of Life Sciences program, Chair of Chemistry Department, Vice Dean for Academic & Student Affairs, and Acting Dean for the College of Science & General Studies. Dr. Muthana has received several grants and awards in recognition of his service, research, and teaching, including Faculty Award for Research Excellence, Outstanding Service Award, and Outstanding Teaching Award.

Dr. Muthana earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California-Davis and his bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University-Fresno, USA. In his career as a researcher, Dr. Muthana has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in a variety of high impact journals, including the Journal of the American Chemical Society and ACS Chemical Biology, and presented his work at international conferences and meetings. Dr. Muthana’s Research interests are in the interface of chemistry and biology with focus on studying the roles and applications of carbohydrates, synthesis of advanced materials for targeted applications, sustainable chemistry, biomarker discovery, nanotechnology, and drug delivery.

Dr. Bouchra Bakach

Dr. Bouchra Bakach is the manager of Alfaisal University's faculty development office. Her responsibilities include supporting the university's efforts to enhance the quality of teaching and assessment by implementing best practices in course design and evidence-based pedagogy, appropriate use of educational technology, designing and supporting effective learning environments, and advancing educational practices in face-to-face and hybrid settings. Her role also includes supporting assessment activities and processes to provide data on the effectiveness of teaching strategies and improve institutional effectiveness. Dr. Bakach has over 20 years of experience in higher education with expertise in adult teaching, course design, faculty development, educational technology, online learning and blended learning, and assessment strategies. Prior to joining Alfaisal University, Dr. Bakach was the head of the instructional design office at the College of Technology, University of Houston, USA, where she led a variety of initiatives and served at several committees aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of teaching and student learning.

Dr. Bakach is a double graduate of the University of Houston, USA with a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master of Science in Human Resource Development. She also holds a Master of Arts in Germanic Linguistics from the University of Bielefeld, Germany. Dr. Bakach’s research interests include adult learning, distance education, instructional technology, instructional design, assessment strategies and practices, professional development and mixed methodologies for educational research.

Ms. Alanood Alshalhoub

Ms. Alanood Alshalhoub is the supervisor of Alfaisal University's Accreditation & Quality Assurance department. A key part of her responsibilities is to develop and implement accreditation and quality assurance plans, systems, and procedures to ensure that academic programs and other university operations are regularly evaluated, improved, and in compliance with MOE and NCAAA standards. Her other responsibilities include establishing, monitoring, and reviewing the university's quality assurance procedures and providing statistical analysis and reports of quality assurance data.

Ms. Alshalhoub began her career at Alfaisal University in the department of Accreditation and Quality Assurance after completing her Bachelor of Food Sciences & Human Nutrition at King Saud University and MBA from Alfaisal University. She also took “Oxford Entrepreneurial Leadership Program” held at Mansfield College, UK.

Ms. Afnan Alfawaz

Ms. Afnan Alfawaz is the assistant administrator of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance department at Alfaisal University. She joined Alfaisal University in 2021. Her responsibilities involve organizing and supporting the development of quality assurance and accreditation procedures in accordance with MOE and NCAAA regulations, rules, and standards. Besides establishing and implementing quality improvement planning and accreditation processes, she is also responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys and other forms of data collection for university-wide improvement.

Ms. Afnan received her bachelor's degree in English Language and Translation from King Saud University. She also earned the Lean Six Sigma Certificate in quality and productivity.

Mr. Abdalsalam Owaishiz

Mr. Abdalsalam Owaishiz is the Specialist of Accreditation & Quality Assurance department at Alfaisal University. Abdalsalam’ s responsibilities are organizing and helping in the development process according to MOE and NCAAA rules. Develop, improve and follow up on the Quality Improvement Strategic Plan including the assessment and devaluations of KPIs. Coordinating university-wide activities to achieve institutional and program accreditation under the university senior management’s direction and in line with the departments policies and procedures. He also assists all internal and external training ensuring all materials are relevant, accurate and support the stakeholders.

Mr. Abdalsalam earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Marymount University in Arlington Virginia in Information Technology with specialty tracks in Health Care Informatics, Computer Security and Software Engineering. Before joining Alfaisal in 2022 Abdalsalam has been working in the United States in the field of Project Management.
